ODIN 5th GA meeting

ODIN 5th GA meeting

On the 20 and 21st of June 2023, the ODIN consortium participated to their 5th General Assembly meeting at the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation in Patras (Greece). This meeting was the occasion for the participants to discuss the overall status of the project, its latest achievements, and the forthcoming activities. Fruitful discussions took place between the WP presentations as ODIN is now having significant results and it is planning to achieve even more by the end of the project.

To be mentioned that this event was the first physical GA meeting, and the consortium was thrilled to finally meet face-to-face after a project’s start during the Covid-19 era. But our partners did not come empty-handed and several activities took place aside of the meeting:

  • The partner Comau arrived in Patras a week before to help install their AURA robot within the Teaching Factory Competence Center at LMS. After its installation, the two partners worked on the successful demonstration of the first automotive operation consisting in the assembly of a motor and a gearbox using the AURA robot.
  • Following the GA meeting, the joint activities continued with a 2-day safety workshop together with PILZ, in order to perform the required impact measurements under the white goods demonstrator and validate the solution in compliance with the ODIN safety concept. Further discussions between the partners addressed open technical issues regarding the automotive pilot safety concept such as the reconfigurable robot tooling, the mobile robot and others.

The 5th GA and its satellite joint activities were a real success and illustrate perfectly how the ODIN partners are collaborating with the common objective of enhancing the European production trough scalable robotics and demonstrate, this is not only technically feasible but also efficient and sustainable for immediate introduction in various industries.
