Use Cases

The ODIN pilots integrate the latest advances and developments in autonomous and mobile manipulators, reconfigurable tooling and modules for achieving environment and process perception. The project is implementing these solutions within three Use Cases from different production domains requiring a diversified set of performance requirements:

• Automotive: Reconfiguration of production based on market demands; Automation of operations respecting the cycle time; and Safe collaborative environment increasing human ergonomics.
• Aeronautics: Allowing the operator to setup/modify one or more operations of the processes of drilling, transportation and inspection; Develop an accurate collision detection system to prevent unexpected accident; Prepare and protect every contact surface to avoid damage to the parts; and Inspect features of different nature using the same technology.
• White Goods: Design a digital 3D model of the workstation and provide a mechanism to program automatically the real workstation from the virtualized one; Part presentation, component and layout change; Work cycle adaptation; and Transfer to another production line.
